A successful course is one that reveals positive emotions and supports students in building positive social identity. Positive emotions lead to an attraction towards that particular course and also towards education in general. Positive social identity supports confidence, self-worth and has a beneficial impact on many aspects of students‘ lives. The teacher needs self-control, confidence, expertise and a good balance between clear learning objectives and fair rules, on the one hand, and flexibility and humour, on the other hand. Implementation of transcultural and emotional intelligence helps in creating this balance and it leads to many advantages for the whole educational process.
